Our Guarantee
We stand behind the health of our pugs. If for any reason your vet determines that there is some sort of deficiency in the animal, and you are not satisfied with the dog because of that, we will work with you to resolve the issue in a manner which works for all concerned. We provide all the necessary documentation with your new friend. This includes vaccination and worming records, AKC registration papers, our agreement to stand behind the health of the dog as follows:
COMPANION DOG CONTRACT AND GUARANTEE
"Companion Dog" means this dog is being sold as a pet, rather than for breeding or show purposes. No warranties or guarantees expressed or implied are made except as stated below:
- This dog is purebred and eligible for registration with the AKC, unless registration is withheld per written agreement above.
- The health of this animal is guaranteed for 48 hours through examination by a licensed veterinarian at the expense of the buyer. If the dog is found to be in unsatisfactory health and written documentation is presented, Dakota Pugs shall, provided the dog and papers are returned within 48 hours, refund 100% of the purchase price. This does not include worms, fleas, mites, cocei, giardia or any other parasites, as they are common in dogs and puppies. This guarantee is no longer in effect after the puppy/dog has been in his/her new home for more than 48 hours, as Dakota Pugs has no control over his/her new environment.
- This dog is guaranteed for one year for any life threatening hereditary congenital defect, except for retained or undescended testicles. If the dog is tested and found to have a life threatening hereditary condition, Dakota Pugs shall replace the dog, provided the dog and AKC papers are returned (at the buyer's expense) for the next available similar dog.
- The buyer agrees to provide annual veterinarian exams, including heart worm checks and preventatives, to do all vaccinations yearly, and keep them current. Failure to comply with and provide documentation of these requirements voids all guarantees.
- This dog is sold with a spay/neuter agreement. Failure to comply with this agreement within 6 months from the dog's date of birth voids all guarantees.
- The dog must be given adequate and proper shade and housing, and sufficiently fed & watered, and in no manner will be mistreated. The buyer must also agree to let the dog spend some of its day in companionship with its new owner, and provide a secure area in which the dog can play and exercise. The dog is not to spend its life on a chain or in a kennel. If at any time the buyer can no longer provide proper care, the dog will be returned to Dakota Pugs at the buyer's expense.
- If the dog is returned for other than health reasons, a fee of 50% of the purchase price of the dog will be charged, along with all necessary expenses (advertising, veterinarian charges, food, etc.) Transportation costs are the buyer's responsibility.
