From Holly and Mabel in Sherman Oaks, CA - a Ten Year update!

Hi you guys!  I just wanted to send you a TEN YEAR update!  Yes!!  Mabel will be 10 years old on July 28th, 2009.  She is in great health and is still such a joy.  The past 10 years have been great.  Lots of things have happened - I got married and I have a new baby boy who is in love with Mabel.  Mabel is still in love with food and is a little slower these days but is really healthy and I expect to have her with us for another handful of years.  Hope all is well for you and yours.  Holly & Mabel

From Larry in Cheyenne, WY:

"...I can't believe it has been almost six years since I made the trip to Chamberlain to meet Wally for the very first time.  He is approaching his 6th birthday (May 1) and is going strong, has never had any health issues and meets every day head on, always ready for an adventure.  From Day One he has loved everyone he sees on our daily walks and he basks in all the attention he gets from tiny kids to oldsters, always ready to show off.  He definitely has a magnetic personality. When I got Wally, I was looking for a cure for my ADD (Affection deficit disorder), and he took care of that and more.  Don't know what I'd do without him! Sincerely, Larry and Wally....'

From Stephanie in Great Falls , MT...

"...No problem about the bath -- we fully expected to give Yoda a bath when he got here. We had a great trip to the vet -- Yoda got his second round of shots and a clean bill of health. In fact, I thought I was going to have to fight the vet to get him back -- he liked him so much!!! Everyone here has immediately fallen in love and Yoda is getting along very well. I did find the health certificate so we had all the info we needed re: shots, etc. Thank you so much for sending us such a wonderful puppy. We will send pictures as he grows. (The check is on its way via snail mail.) We look forward to seeing pictures of Yoda's brothers and sisters on the site as well. Thanks again --"

From Holly in Santa Monica , CA ...

"...Hi! Just a quick note to say that Mabel is WONDERFUL and that I love her soooooo much!!!!!! She won't sleep in her crate so she sleeps with me which probably isn't the best thing but she's a good snuggler :)! I took her to the vet on Saturday for her second worming and check-up...and a good nail trim (ooouchhh!) My vet says that she looks good and that she is such a sweet girl, everyone just loves her but not as much as me!!!!!!!! Again, thanks so much and I will send photos soon!!!!!!!!!! Take care, and keep in touch...Holly"

A One Year Update from Holly in Santa Monica ...

Hi Guys! Just wanted to say hello and was thinking about you since my little Mabel Mae has just turned one year old! Wish that I could scan a picture for you because she is just the cutest thing ever! Everyone at the dog park wants to take her home with them (I won't let them of course!) and she is a very happy and good little girl. Hope things are going well for you and your family. Take care, Holly & Mabel

And...another update from Holly and Mabel...

...well, wanted to give you pictures of my perfect pug, Mabel Mae. She has been sooooo great! I love her so much it hurts! I swear! I can't imagine my life without her and can't remember my life before her. She is the star of her training class - a very obedient dog when there is a treat involved. hee. hee. As you can see, she could stand to lose a few pounds and she is now on a doggie diet. Less treats with lots of love! Just wanted you to know how grateful I am. I get stopped all the time by people telling me how beautiful she is with her "black triangle on her forehead" or her "double curl tail - that looks like a cinnamon roll!" Anyway, hope you and your family are well and that you have a great holiday season! Take care, Holly & Mabel"

From Michele and Tim in San Diego , CA ...

"...G'day! Well Francis is home safe and sound! He is a little angel. I was able to spend the entire week-end at home with him! We took him to the beach last night and he ABSOLUTELY LOVED it! He is such a beautiful pup! Oh my goodness! He has stolen my heart! On Friday night he slept the entire night...did not wake up once until 8am! Tim fell in love with him too! They bonded on Sat morning while I went out to do a little shopping! Holly was a total kick! Mabel (Francis' sister) was darling and I am sooooo glad they (the two pups) got to make the long trip (on the airplane) together. We are going to meet up again before Christmas so the pups can play together. Isn't that great?? Thank you sooooo much for raising little Francis to be such a good, dear puppy. We have already taken a full roll of pictures so as soon as they are developed we will send a few your way! And of course you can post us on the web site!!!!We would love it!! Yipeeee! We are definitely satisfied customers!!!!! Take Care, Michele and Tim"

From Lisa in Morrison , CO ...

"...Sadie is just wonderful. My children were so excited. She has been so spoiled already. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for bringing a little more joy to our hearts! .....thank you again for the great experience of dealing with you, a wonderful, wonderful breeder that cares so much for their puppies and wants them to be happy for many years to come. I have appreciated the weekly updates and constant open communication whenever I had a question...Lisa"

From Marcie in Thornton , CO ...

"...as I said, I wouldn't part with Tug for anything - we waited too long for him, and today was agony! :) It was worth all the wait, though! Again, thanks for such a wonderful boy. I couldn't be more pleased with him and with you! We couldn't be more pleased with the choice you have made for us. He has fit into our home and hearts perfectly. Sincerely, Marcie"

From Patricia in Raymond , WA ...

"...Again, how can I thank you and your family. You've done a great job with her, she's beautiful and so healthy looking. And I'm quite sure very intelligent in addition to being charming. Thank you, thank you. You've done such a great job....thanks so much for making this such a great experience! All the best...Patricia"

From Nancy in Minneapolis , MN ...

"...I just wanted to say hello and give you a little update on Lola, Lucy and Rizzo....they are still the greatest dogs ever. They have totally different personalities - Lola is laid back and so smart and well behaved. Rizzo is more of a scrappy little pup. She is always so enthusiastic about meeting new people on her walks or running wild in the park. She is the best little dog to come home to -- no one could be happier to see me. Both have been so easy to train. It was not much of a challenge at all...Take care... Nancy "

From Debbie in Benton Harbor , MI ...

"...I don't want to go on and on...but we can't thank you enough for our puppy! ...I swear we'd be lost without her. All of us - we're hooked! She brings more joy into our family - we will be eternally grateful.....Debbie"

From Genevieve in New York , NY ...

"...Bobo is here at last, and he is wonderful and adorable and we are completely knocked out!!!!! He wasn't a mess at all, he was a little nervous, but he is such a fun little guy!! My cat is terrified, but we are introducing them slowly. We now aren't sure Bobo fits him, I think he needs something a little more dignified--Maxwell or Cornelius or Arthur or something. But all is well, and we are in love---Thank you so much, you have done a wonderful job...we'll send pictures soon!...Genevieve"

From Genevieve in New York , NY ... (addendum)

"...No need to write back--but Max (not so original, but it fits him swell) is just the best. We went to the vet yesterday, and all the other dogs and cats were throwing fits, and he just looked around, said hello to a few dogs and fell asleep!! He is so fun and laid back, he plays, he snoozes, he is so comfortable with people--I am completely knocked out--he slept right through his first and second nights without a peep!! He has the best little personality, and I can't get my boyfriend to pay attention to ME anymore!!! Thanks again!!....Genevieve"

From Lauren in Carmel , CA ...

"...Hello! Well, Luke had a very big weekend. My brother is getting married so on Sunday night we took him to his bridal shower. Luke was great - he slept through the whole thing! We took him to all the pet stores around here and into downtown Carmel where everyone just loved him. My friends have fallen head over heels for him and I took him to the barn today for the first time and he thought the horses were pretty cool! We were eating lunch outside today and this couple saw him asleep in my lap and told us all about their Pug. We have not heard one bad thing about pugs and everyone just loves him. Luke has been to the grocery store, pet stores, restaurants, shopping centers, church and the barn. We haven't had one problem with him anywhere...Lauren & Luke"

From LaVonne in Newport Beach , CA ...

"...Everything is going great with Ollie. Since he travels so well, it is fun to take him with us in the car and we'll enjoy it while the weather is cool and he can stay in the car when we run in someplace. I'm sure he'll catch up on his sleep again today as he'll be home by himself for awhile. He is doing so well with sleeping in the kennel and waking me up when he needs to go out. I've read about training dogs using a command to get them to eliminate, etc., and I think it will work with Ollie. He is really smart and seems to be picking up on it already. He knows he has to stay outside until he does his duty....LaVonne"

From Jerry in Dallas , Texas ...

"...I know it has been a while, but I wanted to say hello and send you the most current photos I have of Gatemouth. I am still so delighted that she has come to live with me. She is doing just wonderful and is 100% puppy. hahaha.....Take care, Jerry"

From Patricia in Raymond , WA ... (second puppy)

"....Pepper arrived at the airport in Spokane without a hitch. I think she was the only cargo that was on the plane with things as they are. We could hear her making herself known from the parking lot outside the cargo office. After a good bath, she and Ginger are getting along well. I think we picked a perfect name for her because she's as hot as pepper. What a cutey! She's not afraid of anything or anybody, but is also as sweet as can be. We're really enjoying her. We shut the TV off and watch the Pepper and Ginger show all day long. Again, thanks so much for all that you've done. She's so sweet and loving it's hard to believe she lost her mother, and it's all because of the great love and care you show your dogs. Will keep in touch...All the best, Chuck and Patricia

From Karen in Gainesville , Fla. ...

"...Tucker has such a sweet personality - you did a really GREAT job with him. I don't know how we can thank you enough for letting us have him. He surely will fill that big hole in our hearts from losing Skippy. It was so much fun tonight to bring him home and watch him prance around the house - he's so curious and playful...Karen

From Amy in Salt Lake City , UT...

"...Well, we got our baby as you already know. She is just like you said...a sweetheart who loves to be held all the time. (We don't mind:) She was a little shook up from the flight but when we opened her crate she peeked around the corner and turned her head to one side and checked us out the immediately came over and started to lick our hands. She adjusted to us in about an hour. Came when we called her and our only battle has been the crate training. We took her to a dog park the next day with some of our friends who have very sweet dogs, and she fit right in trying to play with even the labs, so we can tell that you all did a wonderful job with socializing her. She loves people too...she seems to be afraid of no one. Have I rambled on enough... :)? We just absolutely love her. She will see the vet next week and then we have puppy classes set up for her when has all her shots. Thanks so much again for giving us such a sweet and loving little puppy. We appreciate all your time and hard work. And we will keep you updated as well as with some pictures! Bubbles says hello..! Amy

From Jenni in Minneapolis , MN ....

"...Everything is going well with potty training. However, it is a little cold outside and Brutus doesn't like to put his feet on the cold ground. Luckily, we have only had one accident!! Brutus seems to love the apartment. We bought him a bunch of toys to play with and he especially loves the little stuffed duck. However, he is still afraid of the kitchen (we have a noisy fridge). Each day his has more and more confidence in him new surroundings. He is still a little momma's boy and loves to pass him time sitting on my lap. (I think Ben is getting a little jealous!!)

Thank you again for our sweet little boy! He is so much fun and has brought so much to our lives in the short amount of time that he has been with us! We will keep you updated and will send pictures as soon as possible (I already have a roll to develop)! Love, Jenni, Ben, and Brutus

From Mary in Haverstraw , NY ...

"...Ranger is doing great. We all love him. My kids love taking care of him. He already seems to be King of the house! I had such a great experience dealing with you and your family. I couldn't find other breeders that even came close to you. A friend of mine is looking to get a pug. He grew up with them all his life. I recommended you highly. He is in no rush. He already checked out your web site and is rather impressed. I am sure you will be hearing from him....Thanks again, Mary

From Sue Ann in Vermillion, SD...

"...Percy is doing so well! He is a typical pup. FULL of energy for a while and then he's down for the count (preferably napping on my shoulder or lap.) While it's been really cold, we've been using a paper lined box with a lot of success. Now that it is warmer he's been doing his duties outside like a big boy. He will make a trip to school with me this afternoon to meet the University Choir. Everyone who sees him goes nuts-he is the cutest pug in the world! Thanks for taking such good care of him-we'll send pictures soon! Sue Ann

From Amy in Waterloo , IA. ..

"...really, we are just enjoying Reilly so much! It's a lot of work, but well worth it. He is just the sweetest thing and so cute we just watch him and smile. Thank you so much for bringing such a wonderful pup to us. You all did a fantastic job with him and we know that he will be a treasured part of our family for many years. Thanks again for Reilly; we have already fallen in love! Warmest regards, Amy.

From Lisa in Morrison , CO , an update on Sadie...

"...Sadie will be 3 years old on 7/28/02 and she is such a joy! She is the best companion we could have ever hoped for. She is an under the covers sleeper at night (with my son), and she enjoys guarding the front window by sitting on the back of the couch to make sure no one is invading her home. Although, she would just lick any visitors that come to our home. Tug of war and TREATS (which she must sit for to receive) are her favorite activities...I someday would like to get a companion for Sadie, so I would like to know if any litters are planned for the future. Also, my sister would like to get a pug maybe sometime next year. Thanks again for the happiness that you have brought us! Sincerely, Lisa

From Dave and Chris in Las Vegas , NV ...

"...I just was looking at the recent litter, oh how cute they all are!! Lily is just fine, she sure keeps us on our toes... I think that we should have took the hint that she was the escape artist more serious, she always makes sure that she is the most important thing. You know when she is quiet she is up to or in something. I gotta tell you though, she is the best thing that has come into our lives! We may even consider a playmate next year. She sure is a bundle of joy. She is in great health and has been on adult food, per her doctor, to maintain her weight of about 15 pounds. She runs in the fenced in yard as if she weighed 90 pounds and she will scare you off, or so she thinks..... Well I just wanted to thank you all again and let you know that our little Lily is doing just great!! Take care, Chris, Dave & Lily

From Nancy in Minneapolis , MN ...

"...Hey Pug People!

Thought you'd like to see an updated picture of Lola and Rizzo. They are awesome. It's only a matter of time before I'll be dying to have another. But for now -- these are my best friends. Lola will be 5 and Rizzo will be 4 this year. Yikes! Hope all is well in Pugland. Best to you all! Nancy

An update from Amy in Waterloo , IA...

"...Hi Kim and Todd,

It's been a long time since I've written about Reilly so I thought I'd drop you a quick note to update you on our little man. First and foremost, we are both head over heels in love with this dog. He is an absolute joy in our life and we couldn't imagine being without him. He's incredibly social with people and other dogs. All in all, he's just a wonderful boy! Hope all is well at Dakota Pugs and we'll keep you posted. Warmest regards, Amy

Carla in Chelmsford , Massachusetts writes:

"...Hi Todd and Kim,

I wanted to share a picture of Chloe with you. She is the most lovable little dog. Extremely bright, you see her little mind working. Always looking to get our attention. She is well loved. Hope all is well in pugland. Thanks again, Carla.

An update from Jenni and Brutus in Minneapolis :

"...Hello! Wow! I can't believe it has already been a year ago that I was expecting to get a cute little dog and now I have one!! Since this week marked Brutus' 1 year birthday I thought I would send you some recent pictures to see what a handsome little pug he has become. He has the best personality and is great with my nephews (who are in the terrible 2's). It is amazing how much he has brought to my life in such a short amount of time! I am still in law school and he has become somewhat of a class mascot. I brought him to the library around finals and now everyone is asking about him and if they can come over. I actually brought him to an informal class because my professor has a pug and she wanted them to meet!! He is so spoiled. Right now he is a little fatter than normal because since Christmas it really has been too cold to take him on a walk in the mornings, but I have a feeling that BOTH OF US will be back in shape as soon as spring rolls around (however, in the meantime his is still waking me up at 6:00 a.m. expecting to go out). Cheers to everyone! Peace, Jenni & Brutus

Liz in Brookline , Massachusetts writes....

"...Congratulations!...we love Millie so much that I am extra pleased to hear that she will be having siblings in a few months. She is truly a wonderful dog, healthy and growing so fast. She has a sweet nature but is always ready to stand up for herself. Her fellow pug, Nomar (after Nomar Graciaparra, the Red Sox shortstop) loves her, protects her...not that she needs protecting! and curls up with her for the night. Anyone that gives a home to one of the new pups will be blessed as we feel we are with Millie. Life is very busy right now but soon I will have pictures to send. Thanks for the update! Millie, Nomar and Liz.

An update from Lauren and Luke in California ...

"...Well, I just thought I would send a note. Luke is doing great! Healthy and happy and getting to be quite the old man, although he is only four. I seem to have started a trend though, we are now a family with four pugs and a beagle. Look now has a brother, Riley the beagle from Missouri . My fiancé wanted a beagle so I found a breeder and got him just in time! It looks as though they weren't very nice to him but he has grown up to be a beautiful little guy and adores his big brother Luke. I must say Luke never chewed as much as a puppy :) guess I got lucky. My brother and his wife have two black pugs and my mother still has hers so this Thanksgiving I will have five dogs in my condo, should be exciting. Seasons Greetings, Lauren and Luke

An update from Patricia in Washington State ...

"...Hi, Gosh it's been such a long time since I've emailed you. I'm so terrible about keeping in touch, I apologize. Our two girls, Ginger (7/28/99 and Pepper 8/18/01) are doing great. I've never seen such loveable little dogs. They have not only bonded with each other, they have adopted our granddaughter as a surrogate pug! They were here when our son and daughter in law brought her over to visit shortly after her birth and the Pugs claimed her as their own right away. I know all the dog books say pugs love kids, but that hardly touches the surface. And as far as our granddaughter is concerned the only way to spell love is P-U-G! She took Ginger to Day Care a couple of weeks ago for show and tell, and she was a big hit. Pepper and Ginger are very healthy, according to our vet, and have thrived out here in WA. They aren't too thrilled about all the rain (who is) but tolerate it somewhat. I occasionally have had a difficult time getting them to go out in it but they do, because they love being outside now matter what. As I have said before, thanks so much for all you and your family have done with the dogs. We have two special little girls because you care so much. Take care and all the best. Patricia.

Michelle from San Diego has an update on Francis...

"...Well it has been some time since I have written to check in! I don't even know if you remember us or not! It is Michele and Tim and Francis the Pug... from San Diego .....Francis is doing so well and I love him so much. He has just brought such joy to my life. He is healthy and happy and such a well behaved special doggie! Thank you for bringing us such joy through our special little friend...Michelle

Jenny from Minnesota writes about Sadie...

"...Sadie is doing SO good. She was real quiet on the way home, she sat in my lap and bonded with me. She is such a cuddler, I can't believe it. We all fell in love with her on the drive home. She has adjusted so well at her new home, she didn't cry hardly at all the first night in her little crate, just when I first put her in there, then she laid down and went to sleep. She wakes up around 5am to go outside and then of course climbs in bed with us at that point. She is just so cute, we can't help it. She is doing better than I expected with her potty training, too. She is catching on very quickly. Although we've been real careful to get her out when it looks like she has to go or if it's been a while. We spent the weekend showing her off at Cassie's softball tournament. She loved the attention from everyone. She amazed us how well she has adjusted and attached to us. She really likes to play with Cassie's pony tail. We got that on the video camera last night. She's convinced that it's there for her enjoyment. I thought you'd like to know how she's doing. We'll send some pictures when we get them back. Nick has already taken several of her. Thanks again for taking such good care of her and picking the perfect one for us. We are just in love with her! Jenny

From Heidi in California...

...I had the pleasure of adopting Betty and Joey from you. Just thought I would drop you a note about how perfect these two are and how much joy they have brought to our family the last couple of years. They are the healthiest dogs (Joey tends to get chubby without regular walks and a carefully monitored diet, which he is on) and Betty is trim and perfect and has kept her figure! We are very active in the local Pug Rescue fundraising and events, attend the local pug meet-ups and enjoy Dog Beach.

Joey makes you think of a little tank (short little legs, low to the ground stocky body)....he will just barrel through anything for a treat or for attention. Typical boy...its all about HIM. Betty is "momma's girl" and is just a prim little princess with her pink diamond Barbie collar. They endure the costumes, the pictures, the cuddling and the baby-talk like troopers. I am pleased to find that they are well socialized, have wonderful temperaments and are physically healthy. I know people hear so many horror stories about some breeders, puppy mills and the irresponsible breeding that does go on in the industry. Your breeding program is not only very reputable, but with the "repeat customers" you receive, they are on-going testimonials of the high level of professionalism and knowledge your business is created from....and I'm not only impressed, but am completely in love with these two pugglies that I adopted. I love these dogs so much....and can't think of what life would be like without the snorts, the snores and the gurgles. Heidi B., San Diego, California
